Week wrap up

Its Friday night, our last Friday as a family of 3.  I am sitting on one couch trying to relax, Peyton is on the other coloring and Jeff is back on the computer, just all being lazy and quiet.  I am positive that this baby has not napped at all today, it hasn’t stopped moving and the pain is quite hard to take.  Its gonna be hard to make it till Wednesday.

So lets see, this week Peyton had her 4 year check up.  Healthy as usual, they checked her eyes, those were good.  According to her she has “super eyes” I think she is right, luckily she doesn’t have mine.  She’s in the 75th percentile for height and weight which is pretty where she has always been.  She got 2 shots, which were the last 2 she needed before starting kindergarten next year so they could have waited another year but she decided she was really brave and wanted them now.  She did good, just complaining a bit here and there that they are sore, I am sure the one is cause its bruised.

I had my final dr appointment this week, the pre-op.  So everything is all set, unless something happens between now and then.  Hopefully I can just be lazy and relax till wednesday then it should be ok, though I know that will be hard to do.  I am also done with work for a bit, I decided to take monday and tuesday off because its getting so hard to sit for so long.  Its been very busy lately, hopefully I got everything done that I needed to, otherwise they know how to reach me.  The plan is to take a full month off and then I will probably go back part time for a bit.  Hopefully baby is good cause they said he/she can come with me, yay!  Its so nice working somewhere that cares about its employees and is so laid back.  Peyton has gone to work with me quite a bit, though she gets bored out of her mind at times, its nice to have the option when we need it.  Couldn’t have done that at the county!

A big THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH and I LOVE YOU to Jeff.  He has been a ton of help, as usual but even more lately.  I hate that I don’t feel up to doing simple things like dishes, its makes me feel so lazy.  But he has really been a big help and I am very thankful for that.

Website Wednesday

Next themed day, Websites!  I don’t know how long this will last but there are some I would love to share.

Todays is Nobetterdeal.com

nobetterdeal

I stumbled upon this website a few months ago when I decided I wanted to find a carrycot that would work with the stroller that I had, rather than buying another stroller…though I would love too, poor Jeff.  Problem was that they cost too much everywhere I looked and couldn’t find a used one.  Then finally on a search I found one on this site.  It was less than half of cost of a new one and was listed as “open box.”  I figured what did I have to lose, especially when shipping was only $8.  So I bought it and it arrived rather quickly  that week, to my surprise the “open box” was all it was, the item was brand new and had never been out of the box, all accessories, perfect condition.

Since then I have also found a few Maggie Bags, made of seatbelts, love them and this netbook I am using.  Brand new Dell was in a “damaged” box, literally the box has a cut in it, nothing major, didn’t touch the computer at all, I saved $120.  The other awesome thing was that I bought it one morning and it was at my house the next evening, love that.

The items on the site range from New to refurbished, open or damaged box, which can be brand new like the things I have gotten or returns.  Some items are ones that were returned and stores send them to auction rather than reshelf them.  My netbook and the carrycot both had auction stickers on the boxes.  So this site buys them and sells them at a great price.

To get an even better deal “like” them on Facebook, they have a lot of discount codes they post on there.  If you have any questions or comments you can post them there and they are great about responding.  Happy shopping Smile

Good Book Tuesday

I’ve decided that Tuesdays will be a good day to share some books that I have read.

Today’s book is one I just finished a few weeks ago.

Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford

hotel

This book goes back and forth between the main characters childhood during WWII in Seattle and “present” time as an adult, 1986.  Henry’s family is from China and they face a lot of discrimination due to the assumption that they are Japanese, he goes to an all white school where he faces more troubles, then he meets Keiko a Japanese girl.  Being WWII internment camps are created and the inevitable happens.  In present day the story continues as a Seattle hotel is being remodeled and the basement is found to contain personal belongings from Japanese families that stored them there before they were sent to the camps.  I found this to be a very touching story and really good read, hope you enjoy it!

Getting ready for baby

Just over a week until baby arrives so I am finishing up getting everything ready, when I have enough energy.  Yesterday Peyton and I put the crib up.  It fits perfectly in the spot we cleared in her room.  Still a few things to take out of there and some more cleaning to do but its done for the most part.  She decided her new favorite place is under the crib.  Poor baby will have nightmares from the monster under its bed…

This morning we got the mobile and monitor set up, the changing table and dresser all rearranged, diapers and wipes are stocked, we dug out the baby toys that I know won’t be used for a while but it will be easier to get to them when we want them.

and here is a picture of baby, 38 weeks, just huge.

One other thing we decided to do this summer was plant a vegetable garden.  Jeff made 2 garden boxes and filled them with dirt.  We have lots of tomatoes, a bell pepper, beets, broccoli, zucchini, pumpkins, beans, corn, and strawberries growing.  We have had lots of strawberries so far.  but our first real harvest was a zucchini, which I ate last night with dinner.

Here is Peyton showing it off.

Here we go!

I thought I would finally get around to doing this blogging thing or at least attempting to.  We will see how long it lasts considering #2 is due to appear in 12 days.  Which, by the way cannot come fast enough, so done with this pregnancy, would like the end result now, please.  I guess an overall update of our happenings is a good way to start out.

The big thing would be baby and my belly, its quite large, will post a pic as soon as I take a new one.  August 3rd is the big day, c-section scheduled (since that’s how Peyton came to be) unless baby has other plans.  Jeff is convinced it will be here this next week and even though I have been having all sorts of fun contractions I am sure that baby will make me  wait till the 3rd.  Gender is a surprise, because its fun!  I am quite sure it’s a boy, Peyton tells most people who ask that she is having a sister.  We will find out soon.

Peyton just keeps growing up, can’t seem to slow it down.  She turned 4 last month and will start preschool in September.  She is quite the independent, stubborn, goofy, attitude filled, creative kid.  She loves anything pink and sparkly, barbies, butterflies, cars, worms, it’s a whole range of things Smile

So my plan is keep updates on our lives, the kids (eeek 2!), maybe share some of my favorites books, recipes, crocheting projects and whatever else I can think of.  Hopefully I can keep up with it!
